Clothing and accessories for men and women fill the racks at Kind Threads, a San Marcos thrift store run by Interfaith Community Services. All proceeds support the nonprofit's work helping people in crisis stabilize and thrive. That work includes permanent housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, workforce development and job placement, mental health and addiction recovery services, and food and nutrition programs.
Donations come from the community and from business partners such as Moonry Collective, which has given clothes, gift items and accessories. Volunteers sort donated items and connect with shoppers, and they can sign up to help weekly or for a single day. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday and stays open into the evening. It sits behind a green sign on the ground floor of a building with orange accents.
