Store Owner Accounts and Payments

If you claim or add a store, we keep the information needed to run your account: your name, email address, the store you manage, your plan and its renewal date, and records of your claim.

Payments for Basic, Pro and Boosts are processed by Stripe. Your card number is entered directly into Stripe's secure form and is never stored on our servers. We keep only the reference Stripe gives us for your customer account and subscription, the plan you are on, and basic payment status (for example, whether a renewal succeeded). Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

We use this information to bill you, show your plan's features on your store page, send receipts, renewal and payment notices, and answer support requests. We do not sell it. If you delete your account, your subscription is cancelled and your account details are removed, except records we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons.

The ThriftyPickers App

ThriftyPickers is the iPhone and Android app for ThriftStores.net, published by Stellar Ventures, LLC. It uses the same accounts as this website. This section explains what the app collects and why. Where it differs from the rest of this policy, this section applies to the app.

  • Your account: if you sign in, we keep your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we also keep the account ID Apple or Google gives us. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email", we only see the private relay address Apple creates. You can find and view stores without an account.
  • Your location: with your permission, and only while the app is open, the app uses your device's location to show thrift stores near you and how far away they are. It is sent to our server only to look up nearby stores. We do not save it to your account, keep a history of where you have been, or share it with anyone. You can turn location off in your device settings and search by city or ZIP code instead.
  • Alerts: if you allow notifications, we keep a notification token for your device, linked to your account, so we can send you alerts about stores. Alerts are delivered through Expo and Apple's or Google's notification services. The token is removed when you sign out, and you can turn alerts off at any time in your device settings.
  • Saved stores and reviews: stores you save are kept with your account and are not public. Reviews you post are public on the store's page in the app and on this website, with your name, unless you choose to post anonymously.
  • Reports and blocks: if you report a review, we keep the report so we can look into it. If you block someone, we keep that so their reviews stay hidden from you. If you suggest an edit to a store's details, we keep your suggestion and the email address you give so we can follow up.
  • Items for sale: when you view an item or tap to call or email a store about it, we count that for the store without recording who you are.
  • Analytics: the app may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics for Firebase, to understand how the app is used (for example which screens are opened, how long visits last, and crashes) so we can improve it. This uses an app-specific identifier and general device details, such as model, operating system and approximate location based on IP address, not your name or email.
  • Advertising: the app may show ads from Google's advertising network (Google AdMob), as described under "Advertising" and "Third-Party Vendors" above. Ad partners may use your device's advertising identifier to show and measure ads. On iPhone, ads are personalized only if you allow tracking when the app asks; otherwise you see non-personalized ads. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings. We do not sell your name, email or account details.
  • Deleting your account: you can delete your account at any time in the app (Account, then Delete account) or on this website. This removes your account, saved stores, reviews, review reports, blocks and notification tokens. Store owners can choose to keep their store page as an unclaimed page or remove it. We keep only records we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons. How to delete your account.

The app also relies on services that handle data under their own privacy policies: Apple and Google for sign-in, maps, notifications, analytics and ads, and Expo for delivering notifications.
