Run by Habitat for Humanity of the Nature Coast, the Inverness ReStore sells furniture, appliances, cabinets, windows, doors, flooring, tile, tools, plumbing supplies, paint, housewares and garden supplies. Its sales help pay the affiliate's administrative and fundraising costs and fund its affordable homebuilding programs. The store sits in a gray corrugated-metal building with a large cream banner reading "Thrift Store" in dark green letters above the Habitat ReStore sign.
The store is open five days a week, and donations come in Tuesday through Saturday. Accepted items include working appliances, complete cabinet sets, furniture in resalable condition, clothing, lumber, unused flooring and working tools. Free pickup of donated items can be arranged, and a free house clean-out service covers moves, downsizing and estate clean-outs. The affiliate opened its first ReStore in 2003.
