Blessed Sacrament Thrift Store opened on the feast of St. Joseph, March 19, 1999. The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Community of Grand Island runs it as part of its mission to serve the poor, both in the local community and around the world. Everything for sale is donated, and the money from resale funds the parish's ministries and outreach programs. The store also helps people without money through several charitable means.
The stock includes clothing, furniture, appliances, electronics, books and toys. The store is open for shopping on Fridays and Saturdays, and Mondays are set aside for dropping off donations only. Volunteers donate their time and talent to keep it running. The red brick building has a yellow sign with blue lettering that reads Parish Thrift Store.
