Norwood has a Savers thrift store that sells secondhand clothing for the whole family, plus dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Savers is a for-profit company, so purchases here do not benefit a charity. Big red lettering stands out on the store's tan front, and a green Community Donation Center sign is mounted right beside it. The doors open seven days a week, and the store stays open into the evening.
Donations made here are accepted on behalf of Epilepsy Foundation New England, and Savers pays the foundation for the goods to help fund its programs. Accepted items include clothing and shoes, bed and bath goods, games and toys, sporting goods, small appliances and small furniture. Donors receive a coupon toward a later purchase, and shoppers 55 and older get a discount every Tuesday.
