Savannah has a thrift shop with a mission behind it. Blessingdales is run by The Living Vine, a Christian maternity home that accepts pregnant women of any age, race, religion or national origin, and the store's sales help support that work.
The home gives its residents a safe place to live, proper nutrition and prenatal care, along with counseling, education, job training, and life and parenting skills. Its support continues after the baby is born, helping mothers through the postpartum period and providing for the baby's needs. Blessingdales is open five days a week and takes donated goods during set donation hours, which end earlier in the day than shopping hours.
