Sales at Blessingdales Thrift & Furniture Store support The Living Vine, a Christian maternity home in Savannah, Georgia. The home takes in pregnant women of any age, race, religion or national origin. It gives them a safe place to live, good nutrition, prenatal care and counseling, along with training in life skills, parenting and job skills. Its help continues after each baby is born.
Donations are taken Monday through Saturday during daytime hours. The store is open six days a week and closed on Sundays. Its sales floor holds dark wood furniture, such as sideboards, china cabinets and dining sets, and framed artwork lines the walls.
