Boley Neighborhood Store in St. Petersburg turns donated goods into jobs, housing and services. Every purchase helps fund Boley Centers' treatment, housing, employment and training programs for people with disabilities, Veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness and youth. Its doors are open seven days a week.
Donations come in through a drive-thru, where an attendant unloads the items and gives the donor a receipt. Items should never be left at the store while the drive-thru is closed. The store takes antiques, bicycles, books, china, clothing, collectibles, furniture, glassware, jewelry, lamps, linens, luggage, shoes, small working appliances, sports equipment and toys. It cannot accept mattresses, large appliances, televisions, computers, grills or building materials. A red, white and blue Donation Drive Thru sign with a bold red arrow hangs at one corner of the cream-colored building.
