In St. Petersburg, Love & Hope Thrift Store is run by the nonprofit Love Thy Neighbor, and the store's sales support the food pantry next door. The organization's work for families in need also includes homeless outreach and cleaning services for cancer patients. Every purchase goes toward that mission of feeding and helping local households.
Clothing makes up a large part of the stock, and racks of it share the floor with a mix of other low-cost household goods. The shop keeps a five-day weekly schedule. Because the store and the pantry are run together by one charity, shoppers who come in for clothes are also helping fund food and outreach for neighbors who are struggling.
