This nonprofit thrift shop raises money for Christian Recovery Centers. Its sales pay for free, Christ-centered residential recovery in Brunswick County, where men and women overcoming addiction receive housing, counseling and life-skills training at no cost. Along with donated goods, the Sunset Thrift Store also sells new mattresses, and it is open into the evening six days a week, closed Sundays.
Donated items can be dropped off at the store, which is the fastest way to have them taken. Larger donations can be picked up through a scheduling form, and pickups take place no sooner than five business days after a request comes in. Inside, the floor is swirled with pink and purple, and the department signs over the sales floor are in both English and Spanish.
