Every sale at The Council Shop funds NCJW|LA's programs that build financial resilience for women in Los Angeles, and the shop brings in more than 73% of the organization's operating budget. It sells clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories for women, men and children, along with dishes, glassware, lamps, home décor, books, records and furniture. Shoppers 64 and older get a senior discount every Wednesday.
The store takes donations of clothing, housewares and certain types of furniture every day. It does not accept baby gear, mattresses, large appliances or food. Donors can also schedule a pick-up from home. The doors are open seven days a week, with evening hours on Fridays and Saturdays. The white building has blue trim, a green shop sign and a large blue sign with an arrow pointing the way to donations.
