Calexico Neighborhood House runs Mission Thrift Store in El Centro, California. The store offers a wide selection of furniture, clothing and other necessities for low-income families, and its goods are also sold through an online shop. It opens on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The nonprofit's other programs include a preschool and daycare, a diaper resource center, an emergency assistance program and an emergency shelter that gives homeless women and children a room, food, clothing and case management.
White columns run through the sales floor under a bright orange-and-yellow sunburst mural, and shelves of books line one wall. The organization has served the Imperial Valley since 1938, with a focus on supporting low-income women and children.
