Thrifty Beaches Santa Barbara buys, sells and trades vintage clothing, so shoppers can bring in pieces from their own closets to sell or swap for something on the racks. The store is open seven days a week and stays open into the evening, and new stock comes in every week.
Called The Vault, the shop fills 10,000 square feet in the space that once held Restoration Hardware. Its racks carry denim, leather, tees and jackets, plus the occasional unusual piece. Gold lettering on a black facade spells out the name above the entrance, which leads onto a bright white sales floor lined with arches and columns.
