Maker's Apron Creative Reuse in Eureka is an arts and crafts thrift store run as a DreamMaker Project of the Ink People Center for the Arts. The community donates tools, supplies and materials for crafts, education, fine arts and home improvement, and the shop sells them back to the community. Donations of goods are currently on pause while the store works through a large backlog.
Beyond retail, the organization offers creative reuse classes for kids and adults, field trips, demonstrations and festival booths. It also works with local businesses to keep material waste out of the waste stream. The shop opens Thursdays through Saturdays, with extra evening hours on First Saturday Arts Alive nights. Its dark gray storefront has tan panels edged in cream trim.
