In Palestine, Texas, AR Treasures opens its doors four days a week. The sales floor runs beneath bare wooden ceiling joists crossed by dark steel beams, with ceiling fans strung along its length above a concrete floor. Long glass display cases line one side, filled shelf after shelf with figurines, glassware and small collectibles. Lamps, racks of jewelry and a weathered black chest with chipped paint stand in front of those cases. Farther back, coat racks hung with handbags share the floor with stacks of folded linens and wrought-iron pieces.
