Open seven days a week, the San Marcos ReStore is run by Austin Habitat for Humanity and sells everything from appliances to home décor. Each donation keeps an item out of the landfill and passes it along to someone new. Donors can drop off goods in person or schedule a pickup, and the donation doors close thirty minutes before the store does.
Shoppers can join ReStore Rewards, a loyalty program that earns points on purchases, and ReStore merchandise is also sold through an online shop. Volunteering at the store gives people a hands-on way to support Habitat's mission. The store sits in a white metal building with deep blue lower walls, and a green "Shop, Donate, Volunteer" sign hangs above the entrance.
