Inside a two-story chapel built in 1893, Shop 1893 sells vintage pieces, antiques, collectibles, original art, maker goods, jewelry, clothing, household goods and repurposed items from local vendors and artists. The shop belongs to the Price Center & Garden in San Marcos, Texas, a nonprofit arts and cultural community center run by the Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association. Sales help pay for the center's overall operations.
The shop accepts donations at any time, and its stock changes daily. It is open four days a week. On the second Saturday of each month, it also holds an indoor and outdoor flea market, with an extra holiday market over Thanksgiving weekend. The pale yellow clapboard building has a front porch strung with lights and white French doors at the entrance.
