In Burlington, The Salvation Army of Alamance County runs this family store, and every sale helps pay for the organization's local programs. Donated goods are either sold in the store or given directly to people with the greatest need.
Donations of clothing, furniture and household items are accepted on the days the store is open. Each drop-off is sorted and processed before it goes onto the shelves and clothing racks, and new items are added every week. Long rows of rolling racks hung with clothing fill a sales floor under a high, warehouse-style ceiling. The store is open five days a week and closed on Sundays and Mondays, and it is always looking for more volunteers.
