Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County runs its Decatur ReStore to cover the affiliate's administrative costs, so every donated dollar can go toward building homes for local families. The shelves hold new and used building materials, tools, furniture, lighting, flooring, appliances, books, decorative pieces and kitchen and dining ware, and new Ashley furniture is also available to order.
Donations of goods and materials in good usable condition arrive daily, and a free pick-up service collects large or multiple items. Volunteers help build product displays and pick up donations. The families the organization serves live nearby and buy their homes after putting in hundreds of hours of sweat equity. The ReStore is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
