Open six days a week and closed on Sundays, Ridge Area Arc Resale in Avon Park is run by the Ridge Area Arc, an organization that serves and advocates for people with developmental and other disabilities. The store also works as a vocational training site, where participants build job skills in a real-world setting.
Beyond the store, the Arc provides adult day training, group homes, supported employment, adult basic education, help with finding and keeping a home of one's own, and psychosocial rehabilitation. It also partners with Jimmy's Flower Shop as a second place for job training. Its mission is to help each person choose and reach their goals in work, life and play. White lettering on the front window shows the Arc's curving wave logo above the store's name.
