In Wildwood, the Key Thrift Store is run by Key Training Center. Its sales help fund residential housing, day services, vocational training and other programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization opened its first thrift store in the 1960s. The racks and shelves hold clothing, furniture, household goods, décor, books and collectibles, and most merchandise is marked down during a monthly half-price weekend.
The store takes donations every day, and its doors are open seven days a week. For large loads, bulky items or whole-home cleanouts, the Distribution team offers free pickup on trucks that run daily, and tax receipts are available. Whitewashed plank walls line the sales floor, where long clothing racks lead to a back room filled with bookshelves and furniture.
