Proceeds from Anona Thrift Shoppe pay for Hands of Healing medical mission trips to Guatemala. The money buys medical, dental and vision supplies and covers other costs of sending teams of healthcare providers. The nonprofit boutique in Largo opened in 2019 and is run by volunteers. It also works with other mission partners of Anona United Methodist Church. Its name is painted in white serif letters across the front window.
The shop sells clothing and shoes, hats, purses, jewelry, linens, kitchenware, small appliances, books, pictures, tools and small furniture. It is open five days a week, and donations are accepted during business hours with no need to call first. Donors use the back entrance and ring the bell there. Items should come in plastic bags and are sanitized before going on sale. Computers, large electronics, cribs and car seats are not accepted.
