Since 1981, the North Canyon Auxiliary Thrift Shop has raised money to buy hospital equipment for North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding, Idaho. A group of community volunteers runs the shop. Over the decades its proceeds have added up to hundreds of thousands of dollars given to the medical center to improve patient care.
Donations of clean, usable goods are accepted during business hours, including clothing, books, knick-knacks, shoes and small appliances. The stock includes a wide variety of seasonal items, with an extensive line of seasonal clothing. The shop is open on weekdays and closed on weekends, and anyone interested in volunteering can stop by while it is open.
