Adelphi's Value Village is a for-profit secondhand store from the Savers family of thrift stores. It sells clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Buying here does not benefit a charity, but donating does. The company pays the Purple Heart Foundation for donated goods, which helps fund support for honorably discharged U.S. veterans and their families.
The donation center takes everything from clothing and bedding to small appliances and small furniture, and dropping off items earns a discount on a later purchase. Regular deals include Senior Tuesday for shoppers 55 and older, Happy Monday and members-only Thrift Thursdays. Big red letters spell out the name above a front framed by red brick piers. The doors open seven days a week, into the evening.
