Since June 1978, Trinity Church Thrift Shop has offered low-cost clothing, housewares, books and more as an outreach ministry of Trinity Episcopal Parish in Melrose, Massachusetts. Money from its sales supports the parish's programs and ministries. The shop is open four days a week, including one evening session.
Donations of new or clean, good-condition clothing and household items are accepted in person during shop hours, when questions about specific items can be put to the volunteers on duty. TVs, computers, monitors and similar electronics are not taken, and neither is large furniture such as beds or armoires, though a small bookcase is fine. The shop occupies a brown-shingled parish building with bright red doors and a metal access ramp beside the front steps.
