Saugus has a Savers thrift store run by TVI, Inc., a for-profit company. Its racks and shelves hold clothing for the whole family, shoes, dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Shopping here does not support a charity, but donating does: the company pays Epilepsy Foundation New England for the goods dropped off, helping fund that group's work on epilepsy education, advocacy and research.
The donation center takes clothing and shoes, bed and bath goods, backpacks and purses, games and toys, sporting goods, small appliances and small furniture. Every Tuesday is Senior Tuesday for shoppers 55 and older, and Super Savers Club members get sales of their own. The store opens seven days a week and stays open into the evening, with a large red Savers sign above a green Donation Center sign.
