The FIRC Thrift Store sits inside Breckenridge's Sol Center, under the same roof as the rest of FIRC's community services. It's run by FIRC, the Summit County Resource Center, and sells affordable clothing and goods to neighbors who need them. Wire grid racks packed with handbags, totes and backpacks stand next to shelves of shoes on the sales floor.
Donations of clothing, shoes and accessories like bags, jewelry, scarves and beanies come in through a separate entrance on the east side of the building. A volunteer or staff member helps sort the items when needed. Which items the store accepts changes with supply and demand. The store is open five days a week, and volunteers can sign up to help there.
