The Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island ReStore in Kona sells new and used home improvement products at discounted prices. Proceeds go toward Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island's work to end poverty housing on the island. Stock comes from donations by local businesses and community members, and it changes daily. Inside a metal-walled warehouse, the floor is filled with upholstered sofas and wooden cabinets and shelving.
Donated items are screened, and the store takes appliances under ten years old, building materials, cabinets, doors, flooring, lighting, plumbing supplies, tools, furniture and household goods in good condition. It does not accept clothing, electronics, toilets, baby items or anything that may contain lead or asbestos. Donations may not be left outside after hours. The store is open on weekdays and closed on weekends.
