Since 1973, the Bonneville Humane Society in Idaho Falls has rescued animals and found them new homes. It runs a thrift store at the same location as its adoption center. The group is an independent nonprofit, and its work is paid for by donations, bequests and money from the store. Right now the shelter takes in only cats and kittens.
The store sells donated items, and its stock includes clothing and glassware. Besides goods to resell, the group accepts kitty litter and cat food. A large black cat silhouette sits next to red lettering on the white metal building, above a sign that reads "Shop & Adopt." The store is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
