Assistance League Thrift Shop is the main source of funding for the philanthropic programs of Assistance League, an all-volunteer nonprofit with no paid staff that has served the local community for more than fifty years. Sales support Operation School Bell, which gives clothing and supplies to children and teens in need, as well as programs for women in crisis, women in recovery, new mothers and teen mothers attending college.
The shop sells quality resale merchandise and is open four days a week. Donations of new or lightly used items are accepted only on Monday and Wednesday while the shop is open, and receipts are available for tax purposes. Items that can't be sold go to other nonprofits. Mondays are Senior Discount Day, and frequent shoppers can earn a discount card.
