GSI Thrift has been reselling donated goods in Watertown, South Dakota, since 1996. Good Stewards, Inc. runs the nonprofit shop, and its proceeds benefit Great Plains Lutheran High School along with other WELS and ELS ministries, missions and projects. The stock covers clothing, furniture, housewares, collectibles, vintage pieces, antiques and costumes, and the store also holds silent auctions.
Everything for sale comes from people in the community who donate usable items, and staff and volunteers sort, clean and price each piece before it goes out on the floor. The store is open six days a week and closed on Sundays. Above its pale brick front hangs a red sign with a green round GSI emblem.
