Woonsocket's Savers is a for-profit thrift store and donation center. Its racks and shelves carry clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Shopping here does not benefit a nonprofit, but donating does: the company pays Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island for donated goods, which helps fund that group's youth mentoring programs. The store's own red sign sits in large lowercase letters across a white facade.
The donation center accepts clothing and shoes, backpacks and purses, bed and bath goods, books and media, games and toys, housewares, electronics, sporting goods, small appliances and small furniture. People who drop off donations get a discount on their next purchase. Every Tuesday is Senior Tuesday for shoppers 55 and older. Super Savers Club members get access to members-only sales. The doors are open seven days a week, with evening hours.
