A volunteer-run nonprofit thrift shop, Newberg Thrift Shop is staffed entirely by volunteers, and every dollar from its sales goes back to the local community. The store is operated by the Newberg Charitable Organization, which uses the proceeds to support local charities and services. Since opening in 1969, the shop has given more than $3 million back to Newberg.
New merchandise arrives daily, and shoppers outside Newberg can also buy from the shop's eBay store. Donations of clothing and household goods are always needed, and the organization also accepts gifts of money and is always looking for new store volunteers. The doors open only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, a schedule that suits a shop run completely by volunteers in Newberg, Oregon.
