Savers in Commack takes donations at its own Community Donation Center for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, which is paid for the clothing and household goods dropped off. TVI, Inc., a for-profit company, runs the store, so purchases do not benefit the nonprofit. Accepted donations include clothing and shoes, books and media, electronics, toys, housewares, small appliances, small furniture, sporting goods and bags.
The store sells clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books and electronics. Every Tuesday is Senior Tuesday for shoppers 55 and older, and Super Savers Club members get their own sales. It is open seven days a week with evening hours, and service pets are welcome. Green lettering marks the donation entrance at one corner of the white building, around the side from the red Savers sign.
