Run by the St. Simon Stock Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, this Berlin thrift store sells clothing, accessories, home décor, household goods, books and other merchandise. Its sales support the conference's Food Pantry and other ministries, which include utility assistance and home visits. The shop fills a low white building with shrubs set between its front windows, and it is open four days a week.
Donations of clothing for men, women and children, plus jewelry, linens, dishes, small appliances, vintage items, games, puzzles and seasonal décor, are taken on store days, and everything given should be new or in mint condition. Every member of the Society is a volunteer, and the work runs without any federal, state or church money.
