At 74 Pennington St. in Newark, New Jersey, shoppers will find The Salvation Army Thrift Store. Sales at Salvation Army stores help fund the charity's adult rehabilitation programs. It is in Essex County. It carries clothing, furniture, antiques, home goods and collectibles. Its posted hours cover six days a week. Giving and buying both help here, since donations stock the shelves and sales fund the mission. Donated stock turns over steadily, so a quick look on a regular basis pays off.
