Donations dropped off at the Apple Valley Savers benefit Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota, which the store pays for the goods it receives. Savers itself is a for-profit company, so purchases do not support the charity. Accepted items include clothing and shoes, bed and bath goods, electronics, books, toys, housewares, small appliances, small furniture and sporting goods, and donors earn a discount on their next purchase.
Racks hold clothing for the whole family alongside dinnerware, accessories and electronics. Shoppers 55 and older save on Senior Tuesdays, Mondays bring markdowns on clothing, shoes and bed and bath, and Super Savers Club members get Thrift Thursday deals. The store opens every day and stays open into the evening under its large red script sign.
