Run entirely by volunteers, this Ann Arbor nonprofit uses its sales and donations to pay for emergency assistance for local people in need. The shop is open five days a week. Its racks hold new and secondhand clothing, shoes and accessories for women, men and children. It also carries home decor, housewares and linens, along with antiques, jewelry, art, vintage pieces and collectibles. Books, CDs and DVDs fill out the stock.
The shop's name sits in white lettering on a dark brick front. Money raised goes out as emergency grants to community groups. Packard Health uses them to cover patients' rides to appointments and medical equipment. Dawn Farm puts them toward housing and transportation for people in early recovery. Ozone House spends them on security deposits and hotel stays for young people, and Peace Neighborhood Center uses them to help families keep their housing and utilities.
