Run as a nonprofit, the Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop resells donations from the community to fund student enrichment in Ann Arbor Public Schools. The stock covers clothing, fashion, footwear, furniture, books, toys, music, antiques and household goods. Its white sign with a bright red apple sits in a band of red panels across a gray block building.
The shop is open four days a week, Sundays included, and takes donations on set days, but never in rain or snow, because damp items can cause mold. Furniture pickups are available, and school groups, clubs and teams can raise money through the shop's fundraising program. It has served the schools and the community for 30 years, and each Saturday 10% of sales goes to a different school.
