Solutions Thrift Store fills 6,000 square feet with clothing, household goods and furniture, and it is owned and operated by Sunrise of Pasco, Inc. All net proceeds from sales support programs and services for adult and child victims of domestic and sexual violence. Most of the staff are volunteers who work the sales floor, sort and price donations and handle repairs.
The store also works as a free department store for the families Sunrise serves, who receive vouchers for clothing, household belongings and furniture. Other community agencies give their participants vouchers too. The shelter's needs come first, so donated items go to families before they reach the floor for resale. Donations can be dropped off at the store dock, and larger ones can be picked up by appointment.
