Acme Christian Thrift Store and Food Pantry, known as ACTS, runs this Williamsburg resale shop as a local nonprofit whose mission is helping neighbors in need. The store is open five days a week and takes donated goods Tuesday through Saturday during midday hours. Framed prints and wall art hang on slatwall along a tiled hallway inside the shop.
Sales from the thrift store fund ministries that meet the community's food and clothing needs. ACTS also runs a food pantry that serves people in need by appointment on several days each week. Proceeds from the store pay all of the pantry's expenses and usually buy about 30 percent of the food it gives out, and cash gifts from organizations and individuals cover the rest.
