Every sale at Cherryland Humane Society Thrift helps the dogs and cats sheltered by the Cherryland Humane Society. The proceeds go straight to the animals' well-being and to the shelter's daily operating costs. The Traverse City store sells a mix of goods for the home, for pets and for personal use, and it is open six days a week and closed Sundays. Its navy blue tiled front has a red-and-white sign marked with a heart and a paw print.
Donations are taken Thursday through Saturday at an outdoor drop-off near the back of the building. The store accepts clean men's and women's clothing, preferably in season, along with furniture, household goods and clean pet supplies. Donors send a photo of large furniture pieces before dropping them off.
