In Traverse City, this thrift shop raises money for the Women's Resource Center, which protects, shelters and empowers people affected by domestic and sexual violence. Over more than 20 years, the WRC's thrift operation has grown from a modest start into a key source of revenue for that mission. Each month it also gives clothing and household goods free of charge to community members in need, and it has supplied couches and beds to families after house fires.
The shop takes donations of men's, women's and children's clothing, shoes, jewelry, toys, dishes, housewares, small kitchen appliances, bedding and linens Monday through Saturday, but it does not take furniture. Its doors are open seven days a week, including Sunday afternoons. A white sign with bold black lettering hangs above its gray brick front.
