Job training and employment support are part of the work at Main Street Corner Thrifts, Gifts and More, a retail store run by the nonprofit Community Action of Orleans & Genesee. The Albion store also helps with resumes and job searches, offers on-the-job work experience and high school credit recovery, and has free community computers and a VA telehealth booth.
A free section in the entryway holds paperback books, dishware and kids' toys. Outside, a food sharing table and an emergency food fridge are open around the clock. Donations from the home and workshop are tax deductible, and large items such as furniture can be picked up. The store is open five days a week, and its long white sign hangs on red brick under a blue upper facade.
