In Fayetteville, Encore Thrift Shop is the main year-round fundraiser for the Syracuse Sounds of Music Association. Volunteers run and staff the shop, and all money from the sale of donated goods goes toward the association's mission. The shop is open five days a week, and it also sells through its own eBay store.
Racks of clothing fill the middle of the wood-floored sales room, with housewares on black wire wall shelves and jewelry set out in cases along the side. Donations of women's clothing, shoes, jewelry and small household items in very good condition are accepted during business hours. Donation forms are available for tax purposes. Shoppers can sign up for email updates about Encore's sales, promotions and store news.
