Phoenix Web, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to fight poverty and cut down on excess waste, runs this Prattsville shop alongside a maker space and a local art shop, all under one roof at the Prattsville Art Center. The group also runs a community fridge that is open around the clock for pickups and drop-offs, and it offers skill shares as part of its programs.
Money given to the organization is tax deductible, and supporters can give monthly or once. The doors open four days a week, Sundays included. Out front, a rack of clothing and a table of dishes sit on the sidewalk next to a chalkboard sign, below the building's long orange banner. At the center of it all is the Really Really Free Mart, where everything is free.
