Anthesis, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, runs this Montclair thrift store as part of its programs. Since 1966, Anthesis has worked to support independent and inclusive lives for adults with disabilities through employment and community integration. The organization serves about 400 people each year in programs based both at its facility and out in the community.
The store has offered items for purchase to the Inland Empire community since 1999. It's open six days a week and closed on Sundays. Its storefront has bright blue trim above red brick columns. Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have long worked at the store, and it now runs a paid training program for people who want work experience before looking for jobs in the competitive workplace.
