A nonprofit home improvement store and donation center, the Pomona Valley Habitat ReStore in Montclair sells furniture, appliances, home accessories and building materials to the public. Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity, the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, owns and runs it. The money it makes goes toward building homes and improving communities locally and around the world.
The store also takes donations of reusable and surplus building materials, furniture and appliances. Habitat works with individuals and families who need a decent, affordable place to live, and its homebuyers put hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their homes. Sofas and armchairs line the sales floor across from tall red shelving filled with framed mirrors and artwork. The ReStore is open five days a week.
