Sales at the Assistance League Thrift Shop help fund the work of Assistance League of Laguna Beach, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Since 1976 the chapter has provided the facilities and all of the funding for an infant development program serving developmentally delayed babies and their families. Shop revenue also supports Operation School Bell®, which supplies local children with school essentials, along with outreach programs that help seniors and adults working through hardship.
The shop opens on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and its merchandise is restocked every day. Member volunteers run the chapter's programs, and teens can take part through the Assisteens® auxiliary. The gray board-sided building has large "THRIFT SHOP" letters across its front canopy, below an upper balcony with a red railing.
