Every sale at the Corona del Mar Discovery Shop in Newport Beach helps fund the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. The Society owns and runs the shop, and has operated its Discovery Shops for 55 years. Donated clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, artwork, antiques, collectibles and household goods fill the racks and shelves. Blue-and-white china and framed prints sit on the sales floor, and the back wall is painted teal.
The shop takes donations of clothing, shoes, jewelry, housewares and furniture Monday through Saturday, but not on Sundays. Donations are tax-deductible. Military shoppers get a discount every day, and seniors 55 and over save on Tuesdays. The shop is open six days a week, including Sundays, and all sales are final.
